Our Journey begins - Day 1

Hong Kong Airport

We arrived at Hong Kong Airport from Haneda, sleep deprived and cranky, and dying for a shower.

We were to meet the tour guide at 6:25am at baggage check-in, and we were trying to figure out how to spend the night. After a lengthy discussion (mostly due to hesitation on Sachin's side), we settled for a shower in the pay-in lounge (for a steep HKD$150/person). On our way out we ran into a shop that sells piping hot home-made congee which was surprisingly soothing. Next we found ourselves a "seemingly" secluded area and made it our sleeping spot for what remained of the night.

That was when the noise began. Workers cleaning the floors, gardeners pruning plants and yelling out to each other. This continued until 5am. At one point one of the gardeners came over to the plants above Sachin’s head and snipping flowers and leaves right above his head. Needless to say, we didn’t get any sleep that night.
